As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing some truly incredible love stories and the wedding of Kim and Greg at The Master Builder's House Hotel in Buckler's Hard was certainly one to remember. The couple were so energetic with happiness and love it flowed effortlessly throughout their big day.
Nestled on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest, this stunning venue provided the perfect setting for a day filled with love, laughter, emotion and unforgettable memories. The hotel is known for its riverside location, historic character, beautiful gardens and unique New Forest surroundings.
From the moment I arrived, there was a wonderful sense of excitement in the air. The venue looked stunning as the team made final preparations, while guests began to gather ready to celebrate Kim and Greg's special day. Even Greg was rushing around with his groomsmen putting together some final touches.
A Stunning Ceremony
The Master Builder's House Hotel offers a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies, combining elegant interiors with breathtaking views across the Beaulieu River.
As guests took their seats, there was a genuine sense of anticipation. Then came one of the most emotional moments of the day as Kim made her entrance.
The smile on Greg's face when he saw his bride being walked down the aisle by her father for the first time said everything.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and emotional, filled with genuine laughter, meaningful vows, some happy four-legged guests and a few happy tears from family and friends. These are the moments that couples often treasure most when looking back through their photographs years later and it was a privilege to capture every smile, glance and reaction throughout the service.
Celebrating with Family and Friends
After the ceremony, guests gathered outside to congratulate the newlyweds and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the venue. The riverside location provides an incredible backdrop for photographs and creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. No wedding would be complete without the confetti so the guests lined up to throw beautiful dried petals as they cheered for the bride and groom. The confetti photographs were so full of energy, laughter and excitement and they perfectly captured the joy that everyone felt as Kim and Greg began their new life together as husband and wife.
As everyone mingled, it was clear just how loved Kim and Greg are. Family and friends travelled from near and far to celebrate with them and the warmth between everyone created such a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.
Couple Portraits Along the Beaulieu River
One of the highlights of photographing weddings at The Master Builder's House Hotel is the incredible variety of locations available for portraits.
After allowing plenty of time for the couple to enjoy their guests, we took a relaxed stroll around the grounds and along the riverside. Rather than spending hours away from the celebrations, I always aim to create natural, authentic photographs that allow couples to enjoy their day while still capturing beautiful images.
Kim and Greg were fantastic to photograph. They were completely relaxed in each other's company, making it easy to capture genuine moments between them. Whether sharing a quiet laugh, holding hands along the riverbank or simply enjoying a few moments together away from the crowd, their connection shone through in every photograph. It was simply effortless to gently guide them into natural, comfortable poses that showed off their outfits, detail, love and personalities.
The combination of the historic buildings, riverside views and beautiful New Forest surroundings created the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding portraits.
Mingling
As guests mingled, the celebrations continued and the dogs and children played.
There was plenty of laughter, I overheard heartfelt stories and touching memories that reflected just how much Kim and Greg mean to those around them.
